The Vancouver Police are looking for an offender who is conning elderly residents out of money.
Investigators with the VPD Property Crime Unit have reason to believe that a man is targeting elderly men and women and persuading them to give them cash.
The con-man meets and befriends his vulnerable targets before either stealing from them or convincing them to give or lend them money.
Police are asking caregivers and the children of elderly parents living in Vancouver to determine if they have met anyone new or if they have recently been approached by a man claiming to be a relative or old acquaintance.
“Trust your instincts,” says VPD Constable Brian Montague. “If something doesn’t seem right, it probably isn’t.”
Anyone who believes they, or someone they know, have been targeted in this manner should call police immediately.
