Community Open House for the redevelopment of West Georgia and Cardero

Dec 19 2017, 8:04 pm

A community open house is scheduled for the redevelopment of 1575 West Georgia Street and 620 Cardero Street.  Guests are invited to meet with the applicant team and City staff.

About three weeks ago, Vancity Buzz featured the Bosa Properties project designed by Henriquez Partners Architects. The proposal would allow for a mixed-use building that includes:

  • 26-storey building
  • Total of 184 residential units
  • Ground-level commercial space
  • 3 floors of office space
  • 7 levels of underground parking
  • Total height of 80.8 m (265 ft.)

The architectural style is distinguishable by the triangular canopies that give it a scaly look.  Aesthetics aside, this redevelopment would improve its current land use, add residual value to the Georgia corridor, and implement LEED sustainability standards.

In response to discussions about the height of the building, the project’s architect stipulated that the design does not provide any additional shadow on the play area, located north of the project site.
