Crowds flocked to Commercial Drive to celebrate Italian Day on Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. The drive was filled with an estimated 300,000 people who took part in a wide range of festivities across 13 blocks.
Cultural groups and local businesses livened the festival with food and activities, from sausages and pastas to music and dancing. Here is a photo roundup of Vancouver’s 2015 Italian Day.
Known to be the centre of Vancouver’s Italian community, Vancouver City Council is also discussing a proposal to formally rename Commercial Drive to “Little Italy.”
