CoinFest coming to Vancouver in February

Dec 19 2017, 5:28 pm

CoinFest, Vancouver’s first-ever Bitcoin festival, will be coming to Waves Coffee (900 Howe St, at Smithe St), on Saturday, February 15 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Waves Coffee is back again to get you ready for an exciting and revolutionary day of alternative currency-related activities! The public will meet on the scene of Bitcoin history, enjoy Bitcoin coffee and get to know each other better.

CoinFest, founded by The Bitcoin Co-op, is a fun event where the Bitcoin community gathers to demonstrate how crypto currency works. Festival attendees can also practice and learn about the revolutionary technology and concept behind new digital money.

The Bitcoin Co-op is a democratic organization for the advancement of Bitcoin, which is a revolutionary new form of money. Driven by Bitcoin’s underlying ideals of freedom, security and entrepreneurship, we educate the public and provide various related services.

The only rules at CoinFest are common courtesy (and decency) and those required by law; however, there are some guidelines that you should be aware of.

Since the space and staff for this event are graciously provided by the chosen Bitcoin venue free of charge, attendees are asked to please purchase at least one item from the venue. Purchases would encourage more locations to accept bitcoins in the future.

Each location will of course have its own custom activities and themes. All locations will be within close walking distance of one another, and access to Bitcoin-themed transportation will be provided.
