Cody Hodgson Canada's Best at the World Junior Hockey Tournament?

Perhaps Cody Hodgson’s name in the title is interchangeable with Tavares, especially when you evaluate the two based solely on goal scoring.Further, Tavares being the flashier player of the two has been stealing headlines nationwide, while Hodgson keeps racking up points. Thus, we must delve deeper in determining who Team Canada’s best player is.

Although they are tied for a tournament leading 16 points at the culmination of this tournament, its Cody Hodgson’s other skills that push him to the head of the pack. Not only can this 18 year old phenom score and make plays, Hodgson also plays heavy minutes on the PK and PP. He also led the team in ice-time and has been seen as a leader in the locker room. That is what makes him the better overall player, the more complete player.Cody Hodgson will more than likely be playing as a Vancouver Canuck next year. From what has been said about this kid during the world juniors I can’t wait to see him in the line-up. If Mats Sundin wasn’t a Canuck, he’d be the first true big play-making centre the Canucks would have seen…well ever.

Congratulations to Team Canada for their gold medal at yet another awesome World Juniors Championship tournament.
