A parklet partially funded by Kickstarter is now open for the public’s enjoyment on Main Street at 21st Ave in the French Quarter.
As part of the city’s VIVA Vancouver parklet pilot program, two parking spaces have turned into a welcoming, relaxing greenspace with artwork and seating—which will ultimately include North America’s first “bike bar”—in front of sponsoring business Chocolaterie de la Nouvelle France.
The parklet had its official debut the afternoon of Friday, June 6, and is already being enjoyed by visitors young and old.

Other VIVA Vancouver parklets are located at Parallel Park on 14th Avenue at Main Street, Urban Pasture on 1000-block Robson Street, and Hot Tubs on East 44th Avenue at Fraser Street.
