What exactly are municipal governments in British Columbia responsible for? What does the City of Vancouver do?

Wherever you live in B.C., please cast a ballot today in your local municipal election today (November 15). Every vote matters for where you live, play, work and learn. Polls across the province close at 8 p.m. tonight.

For those who reside within City of Vancouver jurisdiction, please note that you can cast your ballot at ANY of the nearly 120 voting stations throughout the city. There is no assigned polling station. 

Vancouver voters will elect 27 officials to office for four-year terms: 1 mayor, 10 councillors, 7 park board commissioners and 9 school trustees.
