Dance duo Chromeo is playing at Vancouver's Malkin Bowl this summer

Mar 20 2019, 12:52 am

Hot on the heels of the release of their fifth studio album Head Over Heels, dance duo Chromeo are headed to Vancouver’s Malkin Bowl.

Montrealers David “Dave 1” Macklovich and Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel started out with humble beginnings, playing in basement bars in Canada. Now they’re taking the main stage recently at Coachella.

The group rose to prominence with their seminal 2007 release “Fancy Footwork,” heralding the dawn of the ‘80s electro-funk revival.

Recently, the best friends were just nominated for a 2019 Juno for Group of the Year.

Vancouver’s show in June is one of dozens across North America and Mexico this spring and summer supporting their latest album.

With funk and R&B history, and the summer jam-in-the-making “Don’t Sleep” with French Montana and Stefflon Don – the album is a heartfelt love letter to the music that has influenced the duo since their teenage years.

Tickets for Chromeo at Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park go on sale Friday, March 22 at 10 am.
