Salvation Army's Christmas Kettle Campaign kicks off this November

Organizers of one of Vancouver’s longest-running fundraising events are gearing up for another successful season. And they’re hoping you’ll do the same.

On November 18, a sea of red will take over downtown as supporters of The Salvation Army gather for the official launch of the Greater Vancouver Christmas Kettle Campaign.

Vancouver’s streets will be lined with those iconic red kettles as dozens of volunteers and ambassadors jingle their bells to help raise funds for the annual campaign.

Several local celebrities will be on hand for the event, including world renowned chef Vikram Vij. His popular food truck, Vij’s Railway Express, will be serving up his famous Indian dishes nearby, with some of the proceeds donated to the cause.

This year’s event runs from 11 am to 3 pm on the corner of Howe and Georgia streets. So make sure to grab your favourite red toque or scarf, a few bucks for the kettle and join in the festivities.
