Classical Chinese Garden transformed into the Chinatown Haunted House
One of Vancouver’s fastest growing Halloween events, the annual Chinatown Haunted House, is returning for another season. From October 21 to 31, the Classical Chinese Garden will be transformed into a terrifying haunted house.
How frightening is it really? Well, it claims to be the only haunted house in Vancouver not suitable for children.

Featuring over a dozen actors, dancers and musicians, this one-of-a-kind experience is inspired by the gruesome stories of Judge Dee: China’s Sherlock Holmes.
Up to 10 fright seekers enter every two minutes between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Due to the increasing popularity of the event, fright seekers are advised to arrive early.
Judge Dee was a famous detective in Tang Dynasty China. Inspired by the many stories celebrating his impeccable record of catching criminals, 20th Century author Robert van Gulik wrote a series of original murder mysteries starring Judge Dee, China’s Sherlock Holmes.
He is now the subject of several major motion pictures, including Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame.
