Your dreams of frolicking through acres of sunflowers are about to come true because on Thursday the Chilliwack Sunflower Festival kicks off until September 15 for the second year in a row.

The annual event is held by the same organizers as the Chilliwack Tulip Festival at 41310 Yale Rd.

However, this year you can expect to see a new surprise — a massive field of large dahlias.

There are 35 varieties of peak-season flowers, including sunflowers that grow to be 15 feet tall, varying in shades of red, yellow, and orange.

While you’re there, you can also pick your own Sunrich Orange sunflowers to take home. There’s also on site-grown spring bulbs of tulips and daffodils, and there is a field of pick-your-own Chilliwack corn.

Don’t worry, your furry relatives are welcome as well on-leash.

Organizers said that some of the flowers are taking a little longer to grow this year due to a colder than usual July, but flowers should be in full bloom in about a week.

While pictures are great with the flowers, why not a couple more photo opportunities for the gram?
