In case you haven’t already noticed, thousands of cherry blossom trees in Vancouver have already begun to bloom.
While the East Coast has been freezing over with one of its snowiest winters in memory, the South Coast of British Columbia has experienced record warm temperatures for much of the start of the year, with cherry blossoms beginning to bloom as early as mid-February.
There are more than 90,000 floral trees in Vancouver, including over 40,000 Japanese cherry flowering trees, making the city one of the best locations in the world to catch stunning spring blooms.
The annual Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival also celebrates the annual occasion with a number of events and activities in March and April. You can also use their interactive map to find out what is in bloom right now.
