The annual Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival starts today with the kick-off event the Cherry Jam. The festival celebrates the seasonal treasure that lightens the streets every spring. The City of Vancouver has well over 40,000 cherry blossom trees (check out the cherry blossom map) many of which have blossomed, a sure sign that spring has arrived. You the reader can also submit your cherry blossom haiku and even create your own cherry blossom origami.
