Great Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival races into Whistler

Ever felt like chasing a wheel of cheese down a ski slope? Now’s your chance! The Great Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival is rolling into Whistler for another year.

On August 20, cheese lovers will slip, trip and tumble downhill as they try to win an 11-pound wheel of Canadian cheese – and two Whistler season ski passes.

There will also be prizes for best costumes, including gift cards and baskets. Anyone can take part and it’s totally free; just register at the festival on the day.

If cheese chasing isn’t for you, there will also be uphill cheese wheel dodge ball, cheese seminars with expert David Beaudoin and cooking demos with chef Ned Bell.

And if all you really want is to chew on some Cheddar, there will of course be a Canadian cheese market, where you can sample away to your heart’s delight.
