Charm Modern Thai Dine Out Preview

Dec 19 2017, 12:47 pm

Last night, a few foodies were invited to Charm for a preview of their Dine Out menu and we were fortunate enough to be part of the party. There are three choices for appys, mains and desserts. For appies, there is a choice of Rock Pepper with Garlic Prawns served shell on, their infamous Duck Sticks (duck confit spring rolls) or Tiger Prawns Satays served with Thai-style garlic toast (spicy!). If this is your first time here, try the duck sticks, if not, go for the satays, they’re really good too.

For entrees, the choices are Green Tea Chicken (marinated in green tea and lemon grass with a orange and ginger glaze), Grilled Coconut Cream Scallops (made with jumbo Japanese scallops and served with broccoli, peas and other veggies) and a Pan-Seared Salmon Linguine in a Thai green curry. The green tea chicken is very tender and a good choice for those who like things mild.

The dessert choices are amazing too! Chocolate Chilli Torte with crispy wonton skins (the chilli hits you after the sweetness charms you), a warm Vanilla Bean Tapioca (so soothing on a cold wintry day) or their Homemade Thai Tea Ice Cream, which is like creamy frozen HK style tea, with a hint of matcha.

Charm Modern Thai is located at 1269 Hamilton (right by Drake), this cozy Thai spot is a true resto-lounge. With an ample bar for those who want to keep it casual, and banquettes for those looking for a more formal dining atmosphere, there is something here for everyone.
