The Vancouver Police Department say a Coquitlam man has been charged in a one-punch attack that left the victim brain damaged last fall.
On October 25, at around 2:40 a.m., a 34-year-old man was walking downtown with his wife when they encountered two separate groups of men arguing over a limousine rental outside the Roundhouse bar on Smithe Street.

The man became involved in the dispute and was punched, causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete – as a result, he was severely injured and left with brain damage.
On November 26, the VPD appealed to the public for information, and as a result of the evidence they obtained from that, Crown Counsel laid one charge of aggravated assault against the 23-year-old Coquitlam man.
The man’s name can’t be released due to a publication ban.
