In Vancouver, it seems like there’s always a chance that a celebrity is right around the corner just waiting to be spotted. Walking the streets, grabbing an early morning coffee, or maybe a few late-night drinks with cast members — the possibilities are endless.
But don’t leave it up to chance, especially when we can tell you who to keep your eyes peeled for. Here are 36 celebrity faces to try and spot in Vancouver this December.
Heather Graham
Heather Graham will be in Vancouver for her role in the television series The Stand going by its working title of “Radio Nowhere.” Graham is typically recognized for her work on blockbuster movies like The Hangover, The Hangover Part III, and Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
Whoopi Goldberg
If you’re lucky enough, you may see Whoopi Goldberg in Vancouver this month. Goldberg will be in town for her role in the TV series The Stand, based on the Stephen King novel. Goldberg has had a long acting career starring in movies like Ghost which won her an Academy Award, and Sister Act, Boys on the Side, Nobody’s Fool, among many others.
James Marsden
Joining Whoopi Goldberg on the set of The Stand is actor James Marden. Marsden has guest starred in shows like Saved by the Bell, Touched by an Angel, and Party of Five. Or maybe you remember him as the leading man from 27 Dresses and The Best of Me, and most recently as Teddy from the hit show Westworld.
Kurt Russell
Be on the lookout for Santa Claus this month! Kurt Russell will be in town to reprise his role as jolly ol’ Saint Nick in Netflix’s Christmas Chronicles 2. Leaving us with one big question, will Mrs. Claus be returning to Vancouver too? If we’re lucky enough we may see Russell’s long-time wife Goldie Hawn in the area as well after previously making a brief cameo in the first film.
Dave Franco
Dave Franco may be spotted in the Metro Vancouver area this month for his new role in season one of The Now. Franco has starred in many blockbuster movies like Neighbors, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, Nerve, and 21 Jump Street. He is also typically recognized as the little brother of popular actor James Franco.
Bill Murray
Also joining Dave Franco on the set of The Now is actor Bill Murray. Murray has been acting in the industry for years, and has made a name for himself starring in movies like Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, Groundhog Day, Scrooged, and Lost in Translation among others.
O’Shea Jackson Jr.
Also joining these men on the set of The Now is O’Shea Jackson Jr. who is better known by his stage name of OMG, or maybe you remember him best as the son of rapper Ice Cube. He is known for portraying his father in the film Straight Outta Compton which was his first film debut.
Rosa Salazar
Rosa Salazar will be in town this December for her role in the horror mini-series Brand New Cherry Flavor. Salazar is best remembered for her roles in movies like Bird Box, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, and Maze Runner: The Death Cure.
Catherine Keener
Also joining Rosa Salazar on the set of the mini-series Brand New Cherry Flavor is long-time actress Catherine Keener. Keener has had a variety of acting roles over the years, from starring in The 40-Year-Old Virgin to Being John Malkovich to mostly recently Get Out among others.
Manny Jacinto
Also joining these ladies on the set of the mini-series Brand New Cherry Flavor is actor Manny Jacinto. Jacinto made his breakthrough into Hollywood when he snagged a role in The Good Place starring Kristen Bell. Jacinto was also recently cast in new Top Gun: Maverick movie which is set to release in 2020.
Jennifer Connelly
Rumour has it that Jennifer Connelly may be back in Vancouver this month filming for season two of Snowpiercer. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed that Connelly will reprise her role from season one, many fans hope she will return for the second season. Connelly has had a variety of roles in movies like A Beautiful Mind, Hulk, Dark Water, and rom-com He’s Just Not That Into You and others.
Daveed Diggs
Possibly joining Jennifer Connelly on the set for season two is actor and rapper Daveed Diggs who was also a series regular in the first season of Snowpiercer. Last year he wrote, produced, and starred in the comedy-drama movie Blindspotting.
Sean Bean
Being introduced as a new character on Snowpiercer, you may be able to spot Sean Bean in the Vancouver area this month. Bean is best known for his role on Game of Thrones along with movies like Troy, The Island, Jupiter Ascending, and The Martian among others.
Steven Ogg
Another new series regular for season two of Snowpiercer is Canadian actor Steven Ogg. You may remember him for his role as Simon in The Walking Dead, along with making appearances in TV shows like Murdoch Mysteries, Better Call Saul, Law & Order and Westworld.
Katherine Heigl
Katherine Heigl may be spotted in the city this December for her latest role in the Netflix series Firefly Lane. Heigl is known for starring in Blockbuster films like Knocked Up alongside Seth Rogen, The Ugly Truth, Killers, Life As We Know It, and of course who could forget her run on Grey’s Anatomy.
Sarah Chalke
Joining Katherine Heigl on the set of Firefly Lane is actress Sarah Chalke. You probably remember her best as Dr. Elliot Reid on the series Scrubs, along with her roles in Roseanne and The Conners.
Freddie Highmore
Best known for his creepy portrayal of Norman Bates in the TV series Bates Motel, Freddie Highmore will be in the Metro Vancouver area filming for the third season of The Good Doctor. Highmore has been acting since he was a child and has starred in films like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Finding Neverland, and The Spiderwick Chronicles among others.
Alan Tudyk
Alan Tudyk will be in Vancouver this December for his latest role in the new TV series Resident Evil. Tudyk has had roles in movies like DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story, I, Robot, A Knight’s Tale, and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials among others.
Alexandra Breckenridge
Alexandra Breckenridge may be spotted in the Vancouver area this month through to December filming for the second season of Netflix’s Virgin River. Breckenridge has starred in shows like Dirt, The Walking Dead, and most recently as Kevin Pearson’s ex-wife in This Is Us.
Martin Henderson
Joining Alexandra Breckenridge on the set of Virgin River is Martin Henderson. Henderson is usually recognized for his role as Dr. Nathan Riggs in Grey’s Anatomy, along with starring in the horror film The Ring back in 2002.
Ruby Rose
Ruby Rose may be spotted in Vancouver this month filming the first season of the series Batwoman. Rose is best known for her role in Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, along with movies like John Wick: Chapter 2, Pitch Perfect 3, and The Meg.
Hilary Swank
You may be able to spot Hilary Swank in Vancouver this December on the set of Netflix’s new series Away. An Academy award-winning actress, Swank has made a name for herself starring in movies like Million Dollar Baby, Boys Don’t Cry, Conviction, P.S. I Love You, and more.
Grant Gustin
Back in action for the sixth season of The Flash, Grant Gustin will be in Vancouver this month. Gustin has also had roles in shows like 90210, Glee along with making appearances in Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Arrow. According to pictures on his Instagram, keep an eye out for the actor in the Coal Harbour neighbourhood where he’s been known to stay during production.
Eliza Taylor
Eliza Taylor will be in Vancouver this month for her role in The 100, which is currently filming its seventh season. Taylor is known for playing Janae in Australian soap opera Neighbours, before going on to land the lead role of Clarke in The 100. Just recently she married her co-star Bob Morley who plays Bellamy in the series.
Elizabeth Marvel
Another possible celebrity sighting in Vancouver this December is actress Elizabeth Marvel. Marvel will be in town for her latest role in the new Marvel Helstrom series. You may remember seeing her as Heather Dunbar on House of Cards, or as President Elizabeth Keane on Homeland.
KJ Apa
Oh, Archie *sigh* who can resist this red-headed cutie?!
KJ Apa will be in the Vancouver area filming for the fourth season of Riverdale. Apa is an up and coming actor from New Zealand who snagged the lead role of Archie in Riverdale and also starred in the feature film A Dog’s Purpose.
Lili Reinhart
Lili Reinhart will also join KJ Apa on location in Vancouver for Riverdale. Reinhart has the lead role of Betty in the series and has also made appearances in Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit, along with The Good Neighbor, Miss Stevens, and Forever’s End. It was also recently announced that Reinhart snagged a deal as CoverGirl’s newest ambassador.
Camila Mendes
Of course, there would be no Betty without Veronica. Camila Mendes will also be in Vancouver filming for the fourth season of Riverdale. Rumour has it that Mendes had her first acting job on an IKEA commercial before going on to star in Riverdale as the main character Veronica.
Cole Sprouse
Rounding out this foursome is Cole Sprouse, known as character Jughead Jones and narrator of the Riverdale series.
Sprouse rose to fame at an early age starring alongside his twin brother in Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. He also starred in Big Daddy alongside Adam Sandler and even a few Friends episodes – remember Ross’s adorable son?!
Ron Livingston
Ron Livingston may be spotted in Vancouver this month. Livingston is in town for his latest role in season two of A Million Little Things. Livingston has starred in TV series like Boardwalk Empire, Band of Brothers, and Standoff, or maybe you remember him back in the day as Carrie Bradshaw’s beau Jack Berger from HBO’s Sex and the City.
Melissa Benoist
Melissa Benoist will be in Vancouver this December to film season five of the hit show Supergirl. Benoist has made appearances in Glee, Homeland, The Good Wife, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Kiernan Shipka
This 20-year-old has been acting since she was a child and last year she snagged the lead role in Netflix’s hit show Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Kiernan Shipka is mostly known for her role as Sally Draper in Mad Men, or maybe you remember her voice from the animated series The Legend of Korra. She also recently starred in the Netflix film Let it Snow.
Jared Padalecki
Back to film its 15th season, Jared Padalecki will be in the city for his role of Sam in Supernatural. Padalecki has also starred in Gilmore Girls, House of Wax and alongside the Olsen twins in New York Minute.
Jensen Ackles
Joining Padalecki onset is Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean in Supernatural. Ackles made his big break starring in the soap opera Days of Our Lives, and Smallville.
Dominic Purcell
Dominic Purcell will likely be in Vancouver filming for his role in the TV series Legends of Tomorrow. You may remember him best as main character Lincoln Burrows from the hit show Prison Break.
Melonie Diaz
Melonie Diaz will be in Vancouver this month for her role in season two of The CW’s Charmed. Diaz has starred in movies like Lords of Dogtown, Be Kind Rewind, X/Y, and The Cobbler alongside Adam Sandler.
