Celebrate Vancouver's first Tree Week to help make this city greener

Dec 20 2017, 4:55 am

The Vancouver Park Board has announced the official launch of its first ever Tree Week from April 2 to 10.

To celebrate, it’s selling more than 3000 fruit, flowering, and shade trees to Vancouver residents for only $10 each – you can check them out online by clicking here. The upcoming week is slated to include a dozen tree-themed events, talks, and walks in an effort to support the city’s urban forest goal of planting 150,000 new trees in Vancouver by 2020.

With almost 100,000 more trees needing to be planted in the next four years, the Vancouver Park Board is asking Vancouverites to help out by visiting the Tree Week events, planting trees in their yards, and encouraging neighbours to do the same.

Reserve your tree and learn about different events by clicking here. Spread the word about Tree Week by using the hashtag #VanTreeWeek and play the quiz here.
