March 20 is Macaron Day, and Vancouver is ready to celebrate the petite treat.
“Le Jour du Macaron” was started in 2005 in Paris by pastry chef Pierre Hermé, and the tradition continues on around the world.
In Vancouver, several cafés and bakeries specializing in macarons are having special events in honour of Macaron Day. Here is how you can celebrate Macaron Day 2015 in Vancouver.
This Parisian café will be all about macarons on March 20, offering their small and large ones, as well as having their chefs on hand making macarons and there to talk about the treat. The event is also a fundraiser. Everyone who visits French Made Baking to celebrate “Macaron Day” will be given a bite-sized macaron and invited to make a donation to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. On top of that, part of all macarons sales will be donated to the Foundation.
