Strombo Returns to CBC Vancouver For 25th Annual Open House and Food Bank Day

December 2 marks the 25 th anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Food Bank Day. The Vancouver Broadcast Centre on 700 Hamilton Street will be open to the public all day for tours, livebroadcasts and the opportunity to meet CBC personalities including Tony Parsons, Gloria Macarenko, Rick Cluff and Stephen Quinn. CBC’s George Stroumboulopoulos is back again to help raise funds for food banksin British Columbia. Hockey Night in Canada’s Scott Russell will also be on site taking pledges and meetingthe public.

“This is a very special year for us as we mark 25 years of raising funds for food banks in the province,” says Johnny Michel, managing director of CBC British Columbia. “The need continues to grow and we are pleasedto have so many of our local and network stars support this cause once again. We hope the public will come down and show their support as well.

CBC/Radio-Canada in BC, has raised more than $3 million for British Columbia food banks. Individualdonations have always exceeded corporate donations, but this year, a Workplace Challenge has beencreated with incentive prizes such as tickets and backstage access to Stuart McLean’s Christmas Concert in December.
