Carly Rae Jepsen's first pitch - the worst ever?

Dec 19 2017, 3:56 pm

You can call her, maybe? But definitely don’t call her a pitcher. Could this Carly Rae Jepsen pitch be the worst ever? Tampa Bay announcer definitely thinks so.

The Mission-born singer, known all over the world for her smash hit “Call Me Maybe”, threw out the first pitch at yesterday’s Tampa Bay Rays game, and it was bad.

Jepsen’s pitch went nowhere near the batter’s box, instead bouncing harmlessly on the grass very close to the left of her.

According to the Fox Sports announcers, Jepsen was throwing strikes in warm-up, but when it came time to do the real thing, she held onto the ball a little too long. The result: what might be the worst first pitch in baseball history.

You be the judge on that. Carly Rae Jepsen’s new claim to fame: worst first pitch ever?
