A man has been arrested in Vancouver’s West Side after an alleged carjacking incident.

On Sunday evening, at approximately 8:30 pm, police officers were called to Alma Street and West 4th Avenue.

According to a police report, a male suspect allegedly entered an idling Honda Pilot. Police say that the suspect forced the lone occupant, a pregnant woman, out of her vehicle before driving away.

Less than an hour later, the Vancouver Police Department responded to a collision near Granville Street and West 70th Avenue.

Officers say that the same Honda Pilot was involved in a multi-vehicle collision and crashed into three vehicles.

Police say, the suspect in question fled the scene before police arrived but was located and arrested shortly after.

Charges in relation to the alleged carjacking and collision are now being recommended by the VPD to the 22-year-old male suspect.

Fortunately, there were no significant injuries reported.
