A car sharing conference has rolled into town today, September 22, and tomorrow, September 23 at UBC Robson Square.

The global event is attracting civic leaders and public transit representatives from around the world. They’ll share what works and what doesn’t when it comes to introducing car sharing as public policy framework, while car sharing companies will share service quality experiences.

There will also be discussion on more sustainable vehicle options, such as electric cars, bikes, and scooters.

Vancouver has as a well-developed carsharing network, and bringing visitors to our city to talk about the future of mobility is important for everyone,” said Chair of CSA Carsharing Association Phil Baudin in a statement.

Vancouver currently has four different car share companies serving the Metro area, with Car2Go being the front runner of the pack. They recently expanded their fleet in Vancouver to over 1,200 vehicles, making it the largest fleet of Car2Go’s in the world.

Evo Car Share is Vancouver-based and offers a complete line of hybrid four-door Toyota Priuses, complete with bike and roof racks.
