Toronto-based Caplansky's Deli to expand nationally

Dec 20 2017, 5:09 am

Caplansky’s Deli, Toronto’s homegrown delicatessen best known for house-smoked, hand cut meats, and traditional Jewish deli staples, has some serious plans to establish a number of franchise locations across the country.

Does the deli’s widening reach mean that Vancouver can expect to see Caplansky’s popping up all over the place any time soon? At this stage it’s hard to say, as owner Zane Caplansky is still looking for people to own and operate their own franchise, but we’d like to think that is the case. Who wouldn’t want more delicious smoked meat sandwich options in the city?

With counter service, all of the new fast-casual and licensed joints will serve an array of Caplansky’s classic eats, including the deli’s popular smoked meat sandwiches, which can either be enjoyed in-house or ordered to-go.

At this stage it seems like the next franchise location to set up shop is one situated in Yorkville, Toronto, followed by multiple stores country-wide.
