Canucks prospects Brock Boeser, Adam Gaudette, and William Lockwood are unable to participate due to NCAA regulations that prohibit players from playing in these types of tournaments.

This year’s Canucks prospect team is highlighted by 2016 1st round pick Olli Juolevi and 2014 2nd round pick Thatcher Demko. This will be the first time that both win don the Canucks jersey, as Juolevi was just recently selected this June, and Demko has been unable to make an appearance as he plied his trade in the NCAA.

There are some interesting names in the group with Jordan Subban making his third appearance. He’ll be relied upon to be a leader on the back-end. Offence will likely need to be a bit of scoring by committee for this group.

The Young Stars tournament begins next Friday, September 16th at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton.

Stay tuned for a more in-depth preview of the tournament next week.
