Canucks vs. Kings - Game Preview

Dec 19 2017, 3:09 pm

The Canucks are ready for a new month, and hopefully for a new record. With a three game losing streak, they also might hope for an easier rival. The 6th place L.A. Kings are back to their solid standard of performance with a five game win streak. However, with three of those against Northwest Division opponents, the record may not have to be taken so hard.

What the team needs to focus on is how to fix their presence down the middle. Kesler is out for another few months, and Manny Malhotra is out indefinitely – two cogs of a Canucks faceoff machine that have dominated the league in seasons past. Vigneault has had to juggle the lines (something he loves doing anyways), and we’ll see Mason Raymond centre the second line. The natural left-winger will be outmatched by a Kings lineup that carries Mike Richards, Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter – a trio that along with Jordan Schroeder and Chris Higgins, the Canucks will have to push hard to match. Check out our lineup from DailyFaceoff.com (a fantastic game-day lineup website that even blogs like CanucksArmy utilize) for more.
