Canucks trade Nicklas Jensen to New York Rangers for Emerson Etem

The Vancouver Canucks today announced they have traded forward Nicklas Jensen to the New York Rangers along with a 6th round draft pick in 2017 in exchange for forward Emerson Etem.

Jensen, 22, was drafted 29th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Canucks and 24 NHL games from 2012 to 2015, scored 3 goals and 3 assists. In 113 games playing with the AHL Utica Comets, he scored 29 goals and 20 assists.

Etem, 23, was drafted 29th overall in the 2010 NHL draft by the Anaheim Ducks, and in 131 NHL games from 2012 to 2015 between the Ducks and Rangers has scored 15 goals and 16 assists.

The 6-foot-1, 212-pound California native has represented the United States in several international tournaments, including the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship where the U.S. won bronze.
