Todd Bertuzzi, Markus Naslund and Brendan Morrison will be reunited at a Canucks game against the Sabres on December 7, as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of Rogers Arena.

The trio known as the ‘West Coast Express’ made up arguably the most fun to watch line in Canucks history in the early 2000s. Bertuzzi, Naslund and Morrison were put together by head coach Marc Crawford for the first time on January 9, 2002 and the chemistry was instant.

They were virtually unstoppable for the last 36 games of that season, combining for an incredible 136 points (Bertuzzi 55, Naslund 47, Morrison 34). Their first full season together was in 2002-03, where they combined for 272 points.

While Naslund and Morrison have been back to Rogers Arena a few times since retiring, this will be the first time that fans will get a chance to show appreciation for Todd Bertuzzi.

It will be interesting to see what kind of ovation Bertuzzi will receive from Canucks fans. A polarizing figure to say the least, Bertuzzi was a fan favourite in his time here. His video message during Markus Naslund’s jersey retirement in 2010 was met with cheers (he was playing with Detroit at the time), so I fully expect a loud ovation for #44.
