Canucks reassign Ronalds Kenins to Utica

After two games with the Canucks, Ronalds Kenins is headed back to upstate New York.

Kenins played limited minutes, playing 10:46 against Dallas, and 12:00 against Boston. He was a healthy scratch for the last two games, in favour of Sven Baertschi.

Jake Virtanen is currently on a conditioning stint with the Comets, and expected to rejoin the Canucks soon. Brendan Gaunce has also returned to action for Utica, after being out with an injury. All of this means more competition for Kenins to get back into the Canucks’ lineup.

If Kenins isn’t scoring, it is going to be a challenge for him to get into game action for Vancouver this season, given that Derek Dorsett and Brandon Prust have the fourth line winger spots locked up.

In two games Kenins didn’t produce any points, and only managed 2 shots on goal, although that’s not his strong suit. He hit everything that moved, tallying 9 hits, which was encouraging to see.
