Canucks reassign Ronalds Kenins and Alexandre Grenier to Utica

It was announced today that the Vancouver Canucks have re-assigned Ronalds Kenins and Alexandre Grenier to the Utica Comets.

Kenins appeared in 6 games for the Canucks this season where he failed to register a point, he has also appeared in 8 games for Utica this season, where he has 1 assist. Kenins had his best game of the season last night against Arizona where he registered 4 hits and 4 shots on goal. However, in the rest of his appearances this season, he was quite unnoticeable.

Grenier was recalled yesterday from Utica but did not dress for last nights game against Arizona. This was Grenier’s second short stint with the Canucks as he made his NHL debut earlier this season against Winnipeg.

The re-assignment of both players is not surprising as the Canucks are starting to get healthy. Sven Baertschi and Brandon Prust are expected to return to the lineup on Saturday night against Tampa Bay. While Jake Virtanen will also be available after returning for the World Junior Championships today.
