6 Canucks podcasts to turn to after Sportsnet 650's demise
Sportsnet 650 is dead, but Vancouver sports fandom isn’t.
Just like how cord-cutting has affected television viewing habits, fewer people are now listening to traditional radio. There was a time not long ago when Vancouver had three all-sports radio stations — TSN 1040, TSN 1410, and Sportsnet 650.
Now we have none.
Thankfully, there are other options for Vancouver Canucks fans looking to get their fix. Canucks-related podcasts have boomed since the pandemic.
1. Sekeres and Price
Frequency: Monday to Friday, noon
Hosts: Matt Sekeres and Blake Price
Topics: Vancouver sports
Sekeres and Price has proven there is life after sports-talk radio. A popular afternoon-drive show on TSN 1040, Matt Sekeres and Blake Price went digital after Bell Media pulled the plug on the all-sports station in 2021.
2. Donnie and Dhali – The Team
Don Taylor and Rick Dhaliwal have a successful TV show (Donnie & Dhali)

Hosts: Don Taylor, Rick Dhaliwal, Ryan Henderson

This show also sprang up after TSN 1040 shut down. Donnie and Dhali is technically a television show on CHEK, but it’s also available in podcast format.
They’re off for the summer, but you can catch Rick Dhaliwal and Don Taylor daily (with Ryan Henderson co-hosting on Fridays) beginning in September.
3. Canucks Conversation

Hosts: David Quadrelli and Harman Dayal

Canucks Army’s David Quadrelli and The Athletic’s Harman Dayal have built a following on Canucks Conversation. Their show airs daily, with new episodes streaming at 2 p.m.

While not a daily podcast, 100% Canucks has made a name for itself by the star power it’s attracted for guests. It’s rare to see Canucks players on podcasts that aren’t produced in-house, except for this one hosted by John Shannon and Landon Ferraro.
