Dan Hamhuis will be the Vancouver Canucks nominee for the Bill Masterton Trophy, the team announced today.
Hamhuis, #Canucks Masterton Trophy nominee, said being recognized is an honour. "It was a team effort that got me back on the ice this year"

The Masterton Trophy is awarded annually to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey. Certainly, Dan Hamhuis is an excellent choice.
Hamhuis has had a trying season, in what could be his last in Vancouver.
The 33-year-old veteran blueliner broke his jaw in a gruesome injury on December 9th, which kept him out of action for nearly two months. He returned with a face mask to protect his jaw, and played some of his best hockey of the season once returning.
The pending unrestricted free agent has also had to deal with a number of trade rumours this season, despite his desire to stay in Vancouver. He was at the epicentre of the trade deadline last month, and was nearly dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars.
"I'm very thankful for the support I've had." Hamhuis discusses being named as #Canucks Masterton Trophy nominee.https://t.co/D1uAppucYn
