Canucks coach Willie Desjardins to speak at local Hockey Coaching Conference

Dec 19 2017, 11:54 pm

For a man that shies away from the spotlight, Willie Desjardins is definitely someone the entire hockey city of Vancouver wants in front of the camera.

Who is in the line up tonight? Who isn’t? How is an injury coming along? Which goaltender is playing?

Hundreds and hundreds of questions paraded his way; all season long.

But in the off-season, the guy gets a breather. Yes, a chance to participate in community events and enjoy the scenic views of Vancouver; take a load off with his family or chat with the Sedins about their insane off-season routine. That is until July 24 and 25.

That’s right, because Willie has decided to take part in a two-day conference that will give aspiring coaches the chance to learn from the guy at the helm of Vancouver’s hockey team.

The event is the TeamSnap Hockey Coaching Conference powered by HockeyNow and is put on by The Coaches Site. The conference features professional coaches from around North America presenting on different topics focused on hockey coaching.

Past presenters include Barry Trotz, Ray Ferraro, Ken Hitchcock and former Canucks coach, “Iron” Mike Keenan.

This year’s roster of speaker’s looks like it won’t disappoint and tickets are still available.
