Canucks clinch home ice advantage in the 1st round

Dec 19 2017, 10:46 pm

With the Flames losing in Winnipeg today, the Canucks have clinched home ice advantage in the 1st round of the playoffs.

Ironically, home ice doesn’t seem to be much of an advantage for the Canucks this season. Heading into Saturday’s game, the Canucks are 23-15-2 at home and 24-14-3 on the road. Conversely, the Flames are 23-13-5 at home and 22-17-2 on the road.

With Rogers Arena booked for concerts on Thursday (Ariana Grande) and Saturday (Def Leppard), it is likely that game 1 and 2 will take place on Wednesday and Friday.

The official NHL playoff schedule will likely be released sometime tonight or Sunday morning.
