Take part in the Canuck Place Adventure Race and help B.C. kids and families (CONTEST)

Dec 20 2017, 12:14 am

This September, Vancouver’s outdoor sports lovers will have the opportunity to pursue their passion while also giving back to their community by taking part in the Canuck Place Adventure Race, a multi-sport, family-friendly charity event supporting B.C. children and their families.

The event is a fun and exciting test of endurance and technical skills and combines kayaking, biking and running, with the course taking participants through Jericho Beach, one of Vancouver’s most scenic routes.

Team information

While you can complete the race on your own, everything is better with friends! Bring your friends/family/coworkers together to complete this challenge as a team. You are welcome to have as many people you like on your team but you must all finish together!

Adult course (18+)

The adult course will see participants paddle out from Jericho Beach for a three km kayak loop before taking to the trails of Pacific Spirit Regional Park for the 20km mountain bike and six km trail running segments of the race.

The adult race also has a relay option where three-person teams will have each member complete one leg of the race!

Teen challenge (14 to 17)

The Teen Challenge takes place on the adult course with all teens competing in their own heat for a fun and challenging race against their peers.

The Teen Challenge also has a relay option where four-person teams will have two members completing the kayak leg in a double kayak, and one member each completing the bike and run components. For safety reasons, Teen Challenge relay teams must have two teens (age 14+) complete the kayak portion in a double kayak.

Kids course (6 to 13)

Racers will navigate through a multi-sport challenge that will put their minds and bodies to the test. The course begins with a series of obstacles followed by a two km bike ride and one km run.

Finish line

At the conclusion of the race, all participants can celebrate their accomplishments at the finish line where there will be plenty of food and festivities for the whole family to enjoy
