Beloved Mexican restaurant reopening 20 years after closing its doors
When one Mexican spot closes, another one opens.
Or in the case of the reincarnated Cafe Norte – now called Cantina Norte – it at least starts getting ready to open.
The beloved North Vancouver eatery closed its doors over 20 years ago in 1998, and now two decades later the restaurant is being revived and reinvented by Jeremy Mitchell and Katie Moody, children of the cafe’s former owners.

Slated for at early 2019 opening, Cantina Norte will be located at 3246 Connaught Crescent in Grosvenor Americas’ Connaught mixed-use development in Edgemont Village.
Promising customers all the shrimp and papaya quesadillas they can handle, the new spot is only 100 meters from the original location, and construction has already commenced.
We’ll keep you posted on an exact opening date for this spot.
