Yaletown is turning into a CandyTown on November 26

Christmas is going to be sweet this year.

The fifth annual CandyTown is coming to Yaletown on November 26 for a day of holiday entertainment, arts and crafts, festive cocktails, and of course, candy.

Last year more than 15,000 people attended the event, and the Yaletown Business Improvement Association expects even more this year.

“Over the years, CandyTown has evolved into one of Vancouver’s most highly anticipated holiday events, and this year we are so pleased to offer even more activities and winter-themed fun for guests,” says Yaletown BIA executive director, Annette O’Shea.

CandyTown will have a number of events geared towards kids – they’ll be able to get photos with Santa between noon and 3 pm at the Canada Line station, and you can visit the Ice Queen between 3 and 7 pm.

There will also be a candy hut where kids can make candy necklaces and kebabs. Crafts, face painting, and tutorials on making balloon animals will all be present as well.

Adults can enjoy some more grownup entertainment with the CandyTown themed cocktails, horse-drawn carriage rides, and ice sculpting. Gorge on delicious offerings from more than 15 different food vendors, including well-known food trucks and local restaurants.

The “All I want for Christmas” market will showcase a number of local artisans so you can pick up special gifts – for others or yourself.

The festival will take place on November 26 and is free for the public, but it’s recommended you bring some cash for donations to the BC Children’s Hospital and the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
