CandyTown 2015 brings the North Pole to Yaletown on November 21

Yaletown’s signature Christmas event, CandyTown, will make its fourth-year debut on November 21, bringing Mainland Street straight to the North Pole for one day only.

An estimated 15,000 people came out to CandyTown in 2014, and organizers hope this year will be even bigger. To get started, the event will feature a cool ice sculpture demonstration, visits with Santa Claus and the Ice Queen and free horse carriage rides.

In preparation for the holiday shopping frenzy, gift-givers can also browse the “All I Want for Christmas” Gift Market, make their own candy and grab that perfect spruce tree at the Christmas Tree Lot.

Mainland Street in Yaletown will be decked out to the max with winter wonderland fare, complete with lights and seasonal lamp posts and of course, lots of Christmas decorations. Costumed characters will wander the street as well, giving kids and families the opportunity for that Christmas-card photo-op. Best of all, these activities are all completely free.
