Candice Albach Photography Presents Typo

Dec 19 2017, 12:55 pm

Candice Albach Photography is excited to announce TYPO: Exposing the flaws of prejudice one TYPO at a time! This one night exhibit will take place at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre on April 20, 2011. Media will be invited in at 6:00pm with the public warmly welcomed from 7:00-9:00pm.

“I chose this topic because it’s relevant! Vancouver is an incredibly diverse and progressive city and yet I see racism, sexism and all sorts of prejudice all over the place. I wanted to create a space in which we can blatantly see and discuss the idea that just because our brains are programmed to form an opinion doesn’t mean that it’s an accurate opinion. Stereotypes exist and the point is that unless we accept them we can never see beyond stigmas that limit us. It’s easy to drop an “s” in a word while typing… well; sometimes our judgment adds a few extra charters before we even meet someone.” – Candice Albach

The exhibit showcases some really open and progressive members and businesses in our community including: Nic’s Garage, Sugarrays Boxing and Jamie Walton, Minna Van of the Network Hub, Meena Mann of FMA, Morgan Black from the Vancouver Insight, Jason Athens from Athens Studios, Myself,  Yuji Suzuki a musician from Japan and Amanda Sellers from Tomboythatwearsmakeup.com.

“It was an incredible experience to work with the subjects, to talk about stigmas they feel and prejudices they have experienced. This journey has been more eye opening then I could have ever hoped and I am really interested to see how the public will receive the information.” – Candice Albach

Community members can register at eventbrite www.typo.eventbrite.com, this event is free to the public and for those that feel generous we will be accepting donations at the door for Musical Theatre Works. http://www.musicaltheatreworks.ca/Home.html
