CANcity: All-canned craft beer festival debuts this summer

Jun 16 2016, 6:42 am

Vancouver will host yet another beer festival this summer, when the inaugural CANcity, an all-craft, all-canned beer and cider tasting event, comes to Downtown Vancouver.

While the majority of beer festivals currently in operation focus on bottled beers, CANcity will exclusively showcase BC’s best canned craft beer and cider (around 20 varieties), for a day of sipping and sampling, between 2 and 8 pm on Saturday, July 30 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza.

Attendees to this beer fest can enjoy 4oz samples of BC’s best canned craft beer and cider, outdoor games, can art installments, a can label art gallery, and much more.

Local musicians will be providing the soundtrack for the afternoon, and a few of Vancouver’s finest food trucks (including Vij’s Express Food truck) will be on hand to enable delicious beer and food matching.

Participating breweries include:

  • Twin Sails Brewing Inc
  • The Parkside Brewery
  • Category 12 Brewing Inc.
  • Lonetree Cider Co.
  • Whistler Brewing Co.
  • Field House Brewing Co.
  • Longwood Brewery
