As Canadians unite in various ways during a tense trade war with the United States, a solidarity rally will take place in Vancouver later this month.
The Vancouver event is one of several events across Canada on Monday, March 24, at American consulates and embassies in various Canadian cities.
“Our aim is to provide a platform for Canadians to stand together in solidarity for our sovereignty and shared values of equality, democracy, and human rights,” one of the organizers based in Toronto told Daily Hive.

A press release reveals what the group is trying to accomplish with this event.
“This powerful demonstration will serve as a rallying cry for freedom, inspired by the words of former Prime Minister John Diefenbaker: I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think is right, free to oppose what I believe is wrong, and free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.”
The Vancouver rally occurs on Monday, March 24, between 4 and 8 p.m. at 1075 West Pender St. According to the organizer, a press event between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was the catalyst.
“The group was founded in late February 2025, inspired by connections made on social media. Following the events on Feb. 28 between President Zelenskyy, Trump, and Vance, we felt compelled to act. This led to organizing the March 24th demonstrations,” the organizer said.
“Our goal is to send a clear message — both to Canadians and the global community — that Canadians are united in our commitment to equality, democracy and human rights. We hope this message resonates with those around the world facing persecution and systemic oppression, reminding them they are not alone in the fight for their rights and freedom.”
While the confirmed numbers are currently unknown, the group believes they’ll see hundreds of attendees in some cities.
Rallies will also happen in Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec, Winnipeg, and Toronto.
