Canadian universities open info events to the public in light of strike

Students are back in class in B.C., and while the delayed academic year continues to be sorted out, a silver lining has emerged for grade 12 students considering their post-secondary options for next fall.

The uncertain length of the BCTF’s strike caused some changes to the usual schedule of the Canadian Universities Event, or CUE. Each year, over 45 universities from across Canada send representatives to CUE to connect with prospective students in Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island high schools.

Unsure if public schools would be open in time to host the planned events, select private schools on the tour opened their events to the public so that all students could get the chance to see the university reps whether or not the strike dragged on.

With the strike resolved, the schedule remains mostly intact, but the below events will be open to the public. The following universities will have representatives on hand at each event to answer questions and share information about their institutions.
