Canadian dies in Japan from coronavirus-related complications
A Canadian has passed away in Japan from complications related to COVID-19.
Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francois-Philippe Champagne confirmed the death and shared his condolences on Twitter.
“Deeply saddened to learn of the death of a Canadian in Japan from complications related to #COVID19. Our deepest condolences to the family, to whom we are providing consular assistance during this difficult time.”

According to Chief Public Health Officer of Canada, Dr. Theresa Tam, the patient was a passenger on the Princess Cruise ship.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with the loved ones of the Canadian citizen who has died from complications related to COVID-19. Canadian officials are providing consular services to the family,” Global Affairs Canada told Daily Hive.
