Canada's Flag Bearer Sochi 2014 Will be Hayley Wickenheiser

Women’s hockey star Hayley Wickenheiser will be Canada’s flag-bearer for the Sochi Winter Olympic Games next month.

The announcement was made earlier this morning on Parliament Hill by the Canadian Olympic Committee.

This is Wickenheiser’s fifth Olympic appearance.

Other candidates considered were Sidney Crosby, speedskater Charles Hamelin and skiers Alexandre Bilodeau and Erik Guay.

The Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games begin February 7.
