Canada's Best New Restaurants 2013

Dec 19 2017, 4:38 pm

Two Vancouver’s restaurants have landed in the top ten in enRoute’s Canada Best New Restaurants 2013 issue.  PiDGiN has been honoured with 5th place and Acorn on Main Street snagged 9th place.

PiDGiN opened its doors less than a year ago and has been committed to producing innovative menu items that are delicate yet playful from day one. Utilizing flavours and techniques from both east and west, chef Makoto Ono is at the forefront of the next generation of west coast cuisine. Equally inventive is the restaurant’s cocktail list, which pushes boundaries by adding unusual twists to classic cocktails, many made with sake or soju.

Opened in July 2012 on Main Street, Acorn is a new vegetarian restaurant that offers vegan, raw and gluten free dishes that portray creativity with enticing flavours and presentation. They continue the creativity that is displayed on the menu with their signature cocktails served from their very hip and modern bar. No wonder there’s often a line up! Vancouver does not have a lot of fine dining options for us veggies but Acorn really delivers. They are open for dinner and drinks every day except Monday.
