Both of Canada’s ice hockey teams for the 2026 Winter Olympics are now set.

After Canada revealed their men’s team last week, it was the women’s turn on Friday.

The 23-woman roster for Canada features a whopping 16 players who helped them win gold in Beijing back in 2022, including Marie-Philip Poulin and Brianne Jenner.

For Vancouver Goldeneyes fans, some familiar faces will don the Maple Leaf in Italy.

Five players total from the Goldeneyes will suit up for Canada at the Olympics, with three of them returning after winning gold in 2022.

Sarah Nurse made Team Canada after leading them with a whopping 18 points in seven games in 2022.

The 30-year-old has only played one PWHL game this season for Vancouver, back in the home opener when she scored the first goal in franchise history. Earlier this week, head coach Brian Idalski said she was still a couple of weeks away from returning.

Defender Claire Thompson and goalie Emerence Maschmeyer are also returning to Canada’s Olympic roster after representing the country in 2022.

Thompson led all Canadian blueliners in 2022 with 13 points in seven games. She currently leads all Goldeneyes this season with seven points in nine games.

Maschmeyer is back representing Canada after starting two of Canada’s seven games at the 2022 Olympics. She won both contests and stopped 21 of 22 shots.

Among the seven new Olympians for Canada, two of them play for the Goldeneyes.

Defender Sophie Jaques will represent Canada for the first time in her career, as will Surrey, B.C. native Jenn Gardiner.
