Photo contest: Share a photo of Canada to win a DSLR camera

Dec 19 2017, 4:48 pm

Calling all aspiring photographers! Canadian classified site Kijiji wants your photos of everything you love about Canada. They can feature anything from poutine to Ryan Gosling or a gorgeous hike. The photos will go into a crowd-sourced mosaic. Everyone who submits to the photo contest has a chance to win a Nikon D5200 camera. The deadline is November 29.

What kind of photos are accepted? Anything that shows why Canada is really the place to be. Canada is multicultural. Canada taught the world that bacon and maple syrup are the perfect combo. Canada is chock full of unspoiled natural beauty. Canada spawned Justin Bieber, Rachel McAdams, Seth Rogen, Ellen Page, William Shatner, Jason Priestly and Pamela Anderson. Canada excels at hockey. And so much more.

How to Add a Photo

You upload photos taken in Canada from your computer, Facebook, or Instagram account. Then you tag the images with an emotion: happiness, adventurous and romantic. The images collected create Canadian-themed mosaics that represent the three emotions. So if someone uploads an image of skiing at Grouse Mountain and tags it with “happy,” that image will become part of the “Happiness Mosaic.”

The more images submitted, the higher the resolution the mosaics will become. Check out how others feel about Canada too by scrolling over the mosaic and seeing what’s already been submitted.

“Over time, the mosaics will become like a living art project, where visitors can browse the images of others segmented by emotions in a way that gives them insight into how others feel connected to all of the incredible places that Canada has to offer,” said Andrew Lee of Kijiji.

Photo Contest Prize

When you submit an image or images, you will be entered into a raffle to win a new Nikon D5200 camera valued at $900. Enter your email address when you submit your images, and you will be contacted if your name is chosen.
