Canada Day 2011 Vancouver

Dec 19 2017, 1:00 pm

Vancouver will be throwing the largest party in western Canada (despite what Mayor Watts of Surrey says) as a crowd of over 150,000 is expected to attend the Canada Day celebrations at Canada Place. There will be live entertainment, a parade, fireworks. The cauldron will be lit sometime in the morning with no ceremony. It will be turned off at 10 pm just before the fireworks.

In 2011, you’ll have the freedom to choose from a range of art, entertainment and activities with Canada @ Play, Innovation Nation, Creative Nation and 30+ bands on five stages. Headliners include The Irish Descendants, Chic Gamine, and Montréal’s afro-pop group, H’Sao.

Coast Capital Savings Main Stage will kick off with the Citizenship Ceremony, hosted by Global BC’s Chris Gailus.

The Arrogant Worms will emcee the Watefront Party, culminating with a classic Canadian performance by The Grapes of Wrath. Making a global debut in 2011 is compelling art exhibit, Face of Canada.

Canada Day at Canada Place July 1, 2011:

  • 10:00 AM to 6:00PM | Canada Day at Canada Place
  • 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM | 3rd Annual Canada Day Parade

This free community celebration will recognize diversity, multiculturalism, strength, freedom and the bonds that connect all Canadians.
