Dec 19 2017, 10:22 pm

Camp grounds around British Columbia will be open for reservations beginning Sunday, March 15.

The provincial government’s B.C. Parks Discover Camping Reservation Service website will begin taking bookings at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Outdoor enthusiasts and summer-lovers can go online or call in to make a reservation at 115 campgrounds in 99 provincial parks up to three months in advance before the summer rush begins.

While camping fees were recently increased by $5 a night, that likely won’t deter the need for a reservation if you’re planning on camping next season. In 2014, Discover Camping processed over 133,000 bookings.

New for this year are reservations available at more sites, including Summit Lake, Juniper Lake, Whiskers Point and Kootenay Lake provincial parks.

Reservations can also be made by calling 1-800-689-9025.
