CaliBurger: Burgers and boozy shakes at In-N-Out clone (PHOTOS)

Downtown Vancouver is about to gain a new fast/casual foodie addition, thanks to newcomer CaliBurger.

The US Burger chain will officially open its first Vancouver location on Thurlow Street on June 3, though you may be able to score some burgers and shakes earlier if you pass by and they’re in soft launch mode.

Those who drop by the soon-to-be open burger joint will find a laid-back, clutter-free, 60-seat space, with a distinct Californian vibe, thanks to costal colours and beach prints hanging on the walls.

Like the interior, the menu is fuss-free. An electronic board above the cashier lists a range of eye-catching burger creations. These guilty pleasures include fresh beef burgers (think juicy patties sandwiched between glossy buns), chicken sandwiches, and hand-cut fries.

Diners have the option to wash their CaliBurger meals down with hand-spun milkshakes, which can be ordered virgin, spiked with bourbon, rum, or Bailey’s, and/or with a shot of Stumptown Nitro Cold Brew coffee on tap. If a coffee hit is what you’re after, keep your eyes peeped for an adjoining door that will lead you to all sorts of coffee goodness next door.

In addition to CailBurger’s handheld delights, the fast-casual joint also boasts many technologically advanced features, like wireless in-table charging stations, a large interactive 9-foot video wall, and mobile ordering from a smartphone, which will launch in a week or so.
